Free Education, do we really need it?

Greetings

Out of sudden, dont you think? A few entry before i was just talking about unimportant things like my day, hang out with friends and etc

But now im talking about serious matter, NEEDS OF FREE EDUCATION

Politics aside, im going to talk about logic. I always believe that discussing using logic and putting politics aside is the best way having of a discussion that will result human with sanity

Like what Mat Lutfi always did.

Im here not going to talk about can our government or cannot our government provides free education.also not going to talk should or should we not provide free education. But instead im going to talk something other than that.

The effect of free education to our students. Many arguments came from many people, either positive or negative.

Here, some i list it for you. you may add it for your convenience:

#1: Students will take education for granted
#2: The teachers, will be taken lightly, less respected
#3: Students comes from a lesser family can enjoy better education
#4: Student's money can be use for other purpose such as health care, food, shelter, needs
.
.
.
.
The list goes on...

You may come with your own rational, perspective and opinion on this issue. So am i. The interesting thing on this issue that attract me the most is #1 and #2.

Okay, those two clearly indicates the bad effect on the providing the free education to our student. Now im going to enter the part on why this might happen. It would seems that im going to be a little political on this issue but it's inevitable so i want you to remain calm as you can and continue the reading.

#1 and #2 actually quite the same point as you can see. You see, the problem is not the government but the students themselves. With the "luxurious" life of free education comes lack of respect towards the education itself by the student.

Yup. I agree. No doubt about that. History tells that human tend to care less about things that has lesser "financial" value compared to things with more "financial" value towards them during the current time.

The thing is how this thing happens, or you could say may happens?

That's the message im trying to convey to you.

What i can say is the failure in the education itself breed this problem. Calm down. Calm down. Dont breath fire yet.

Im not blaming the whole ministry of education themselves. Many fight till their last breath to create a better society for our beloved nation.

The only weakness i see is the failure of our education in creating the students, the generation and the society that will always appreciate the education. Whether it is free or paid.

That's my argument.

What i see the failure of such our civic education in producing a better society. Isn't to shape a student with better moral value is the motive of our Ministry of Education that making Civic Education as one of our school subject?

Well i can say it's quite a failure in term of shaping a student that value the education itself whether it's free or not.

My argument here is base on the opinion #1 and #2.

So my point is, are those who keep sayings that "students will care less about education if it's free" realize that our current education system itself creating this type of student that they fear of?

Therefore, it is hope that our education system will improve and find a way to implement the correct moral value to our student successfully. Reshape the Civic Education syllabus. That's the only way to "shape" the correct mentality student through Civic Education. as i see with our current Civic Education, the type of student that all of us wanted cant be achieved.

In the end, the matter of thing is not about whether our government should or shouldn't provide free education but instead ready or not our student for free education.

For now, it is strongly believed that our students are yet to be ready for free education.

free or not is not the important thing. the important thing is how our society view it,doesnt matter free or not
